Downtown Longmont

It is painful to watch the shutters close on a number of our small businesses in downtown Longmont.  I support the city’s efforts to stimulate new business through the Longmont Downtown Development Authority.  Over the past year and a half new programs have been established, especially the major façade and marketing programs.  These programs have created traction and I see evidence that more progress can be expected.

I am excited about the project at 380 Main Street that will bring two new restaurants and lofts on the upper level.   I expect that this project will add new life to our downtown and stimulate other redevelopment that will attract people into the area to shop and enjoy one of Longmont’s unique features.

There are additional plans for property on the north side of Longs Peak Avenue between Main and Coffman Streets that will add new spirit to Downtown Longmont.  I look forward to working with the developer to bring this project to fruition.
